1. Using the cost information below, develop an initial budget for the following building complex. Submit a written report that includes the total costs and identification of the major cost components. Place all the supporting documents, e.g. spread sheets or manual calculations, in an appendix.
1. Office area – 12,000 square feet
2. Manufacturing “A” area – 22,000 square feet
3. Manufacturing “B” area – 18,000 square feet
4. Warehouse – 30,000 square feet
5. Site development – 200,000 square feet

Unit costs for different types of buildings and site development.

a. Office - $70/square foot

b. Manufacturing “A” -- $100/square foot

c. Manufacturing “B” -- $200/square foot

d. Warehouse -- $55/square foot

e. Site Development -- $80,000/acre

In addition to the construction costs, there are the following costs:

a. Design fees at 9% of construction costs

b. Construction manager fee at 1.5% of the construction costs

c. Permits and inspections at $25,000

d. Planning contingency at 3% of construction and design costs

e. Construction contingency at 5% of construction costs
