Vegetation
Added April 17, 2002
On April 17th, vegetation was added to the system. Various species of aquatic plants were gathered. Some were contributed by Joan form the Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology greenhouse.
Willow species were contributed by Yulia, a Ph.D. student in the Horitculture and Crop Science Department.
Becky and Stewart collected plants and soils from local wetlands.
The willow species were pruned and added to the system.
A thin netting was used to support the vegetation in the second aerobic tank.
The system after 2 weeks of work with the vegetation.
