High
School Preparation Students interested in Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering as a major should have a good high school background in math, chemistry, physics, and in written and verbal communication. Experience with computers is helpful. A college preparatory high school course work curriculum is required for unconditional admission. Selected students with exceptional ACT scores and high school performance can be directly admitted to the College of Engineering in a pre-major status. All other students are encouraged to enter through the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences as a pre-engineering major. All freshman applicants are considered within a competitive admission process for Summer, Autumn, and Winter quarters for the Columbus campus. The primary criteria for admission are the completion of the applicant’s high school college preparatory program, performance in that program as indicated by class rank and/or grade-point average, and performance on either the ACT or SAT. Upon admission, students are encouraged to directly enroll in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences or College of Engineering.
