R. C. Miller Award
The
R. C. Miller Award is given to one student in Agricultural and
Construction Systems Management and one student in Engineering who
best exemplify the mental qualities which Professor Miller tried to
develop in his students. This award is based on the student's
ability:
-
to
"think" in an engineering sense
-
to
be concerned and recognize problems in their proper perspective
-
to
take a lead in organizing solutions to problems
-
to
employ scientific methods to arrive at the desired result
The
student is recognized for a desire to achieve
"understanding" as contrasted to "knowing." It
is not based necessarily on a student's ability to make high grades.
