R. D. Barden
Scholarship Fund and R. D. Barden Premium Scholarship
The R. D.
Barden Scholarships honor outstanding students in Agricultural and
Construction Systems Management. R. D. Barden was the Chairman of
the Department of Agricultural Engineering from 1955 to 1960. He was
recognized as an outstanding teacher in the College of Agriculture.
His research focused on the use of airplanes for agriculture.
Professor Barden had diverse interests that ranged from being the
Director of the university's airport - Don Scott Field - to being
the Chairman of the Athletic Council.
The
recipient of the R. D. Barden Premium Scholarship for 2003 is
Russel Gottemoeller.
