News article: Shearer Reappointed as Department Chair of FABE

Dr. Scott A. Shearer has been reappointed as Chair of the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE) at The Ohio State University. Shearer joined the department as Chair in 2011. This will be his third four-year term in the role. 

Shearer received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in agricultural engineering from The Ohio State University. Prior to 2011 he was Chair of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at the University of Kentucky.

News article: Shearer Receives BETHA Grant for Global Sustainable Village

Dr. Scott Shearer, Professor and Chair of the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering, was named one of six recipients of a 2018Battelle Engineering, Technology and Human Affairs (BETHA) grant. 

The BETHA Endowment annual grant competition helps fund projects at the complex intersection between science, technology, society, and cultural issues. This year, a record number of 37 proposals were submitted.
