Ohio State Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE) Ph.D. alumni Ilhami Yildiz is the recipient of the 2022 International Alumni Award presented by the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) and will be honored Friday night as a part of the Homecoming festivities.
The award is given to outstanding international agricultural alumni representing, supporting, and promoting the college and The Ohio State University around the globe. It is one of four awards presented by the CFAES Alumni Society at its annual awards ceremony.
Yildiz received his Ph.D. in agricultural engineering from Ohio State FABE in 1993 and continues to represent the department and the university worldwide with his expertise in controlled environmental systems. Yildiz has provided extensive research, teaching, and training at five universities in the United States, Turkey, and Canada. Yildiz has served on editorial boards of international journals, research-granting agencies, and review panels including the U.S. Secretary of Energy. Recently, he served as the president of Istinye University in Istanbul, Turkey.
