Fuqing Xu receives the 1st Place ASABE Boyd Scott Graduate Research Award

July 18, 2014

Congratulations to Fuqing Xu on receiving the first place (Ph.D. category) Boyd Scott Graduate Research Award!

Fuqing Xu’s research on the modeling of solid state anaerobic digestion received the First Place (Ph.D. Category) Boyd-Scott Graduate Research Award on the 2014 ASABE Annual International Meeting held in Montreal, Canada.

The Boyd-Scott Graduate Research Award is to recognize excellence in the conduct and presentation of research to build the knowledge base needed by engineers who design equipment, facilities, and processes for the sustainable operation of a biological system. The award consists of two competitions, one for M.S. students and one for Ph.D. students. Graduate students submit written papers that are sent to a panel of judges appointed by the P-122 Graduate Research Award committee organized to administer based on scoring of the written competition. The top three M.S. and Ph.D. finalists are invited to present their papers at an oral competition held during the Annual International Meeting. The oral competition functions like a six-paper technical session and defines placements in each category. Cash prizes are awarded to the winning finalists.
