Meet Timothy Sullivan: 2024 CFAES Distinguished Senior

April 1, 2024
Agricultural Systems Management major Timothy Sullivan

Our final interview for the 2024 College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) Distinguished Senior Award in the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering was with Timothy Sullivan. An agricultural systems management major from London, Ohio, he shared insights into his discovery of FABE, his time in the department, and his future endeavors post-graduation.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE FABE?

I chose the ASM major due to the vast selection of agricultural topics you could focus on. Through the diversity of classes, I grew a passion for agronomy and the digital side of agriculture.

WHAT HAS YOUR UNDERGRADUATE EXPERIENCE BEEN LIKE?

The department has been supportive from the beginning, ensuring that success could be achieved all four years of college. Every faculty and staff member of the department will carve time out of their schedule to assist at any time.

HOW ARE YOU INVOLVED ON CAMPUS?

I am involved in the ASM Club, Crops and Soils Club, Weeds Judging Team, and am a Farm Science Review Student Employee.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES/INTERESTS OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM?

I enjoy working on our family farming operation (pumpkins, sunflowers, corn, soybeans), I am active at Grove City Church of the Nazarene, and love spending the summer months on a boat waterskiing and wakeboarding.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR UNDERGRADUATES IN FABE?

Get involved as early as possible, take an internship outside of the state, and never say no to a trip or experience with a club.

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR AFTER GRADUATION?

I will be working for Pioneer as an Associate Territory Manager and working to build our family farming operation.

Congratulations to 2024 CFAES Distinguished Senior Timothy Sullivan! We wish you luck going forward.
