Beenish Saba, a graduate student in biological engineering, has been invited to participate in a research project of electrosynthesis processes in bio-cathodes, in hydro-system and bio process units of the National Research Institute of Science and Technology for Environment and Agriculture Paris, France. (http://www.irstea.fr/en/accueil). Beenish Saba is researching a simultaneous system of electricity generation and bio-treatment of wastewater from textile plants. Saba’s research will look at how microbial fuel cells clean wastewater but also directly produce electricity from organic wastes found in the large volumes of wastewater produced by textile plants. Dr. Ann Christy is her advisor.
