  1. ASC Competition Application!

    Each year, the ASC competition is centered on a real life construction project and judged by a panel of industry professionals.  They include Owners, Developers, Construction Managers and Contractors. Upon arrival to Chicago, the teams will be given the “project” and will be expected to create an estimate, project management plan, and safety plan in a given time period. The teams will also be required to present their findings to a team of judges.  This year’s schedule is as follows:

    Despite toxic algae blooms, fish from Lake Erie are safe to eat, according to early results of a study from The Ohio State University. Researchers have finished one year of the study into how harmful algae affects walleye, yellow perch and white perch, said Jay Martin, professor of ecological engineering at OSU’s department of food, agricultural and biological engineering.   9. Jay Martin, FABE Professor, discusses harmful algae blooms with the Dispatch

    Dr. Jay Martin is part of a team of scientists studying the western part of Lake Erie and the Maumee River, from which the most amount of phosphorus floods into the lake. Data indicate that the lake could experience an 85 percent increase in blooms that stretch 117 square miles or larger. Click here to read the article published in The Columbus Dispatch.

    Congratulations to Lauren Slutzky for winning first place in the poster competition at the Case Western for the Polymer Initiative of Northeast Ohio (PINO) Conference!
