The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), Nationwide, and the Ohio Farm Bureau joined forces to establish the AgTech Innovation Hub, a groundbreaking multimillion-dollar research collaboration. The partnership, unveiled during the 2023 Farm Science Review, aims to drive the development of innovative solutions that enhance the agricultural ecosystem while fostering a deeper understanding of and effective management and mitigation strategies for climate risks.

The Ohio State University Department of Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering (FABE) incoming tenure-track faculty Cherish Vance and Senior Lecturer Patrick Sours (FABE/CEGE) have been awarded a grant from the American Society for Engineering Education's (ASEE) Engineering for One Planet (EOP) Mini-Grants Program. The grant aims to support educators in integrating sustainability into their programs. Out of over 100 applications received, their proposal was among the 14 selected, with each winning application receiving $8,000 for their academic programs.

Gönül Z. Kaletunç, professor in Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE) in the College of Food Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and director, Faculty Professional Development Program in the College of Engineering, was awarded a 2022-2023 Fulbright U.S. Specialist grant to the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia to share her expertise on "Advanced technologies in encapsulation of bioactive compounds: Research and academic approach."

The President’s Research Excellence (PRE) Catalyst grants support cross- and interdisciplinary teams to pursue large-scale, high-impact research that addresses emerging or existing national and international societal challenges. This year's grants address aging, cancer, energy and sustainability research.
In the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE), several faculty members serve as co-investigators on the projects receiving grant funding, and Professor Katrina Cornish leads one project.

Srishti Gaur, a post-doctoral scholar in the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE), placed third in the 2023 CFAES Research Forum Poster Competition last month for her project, contributing to a National Science Foundation (NSF) Cyber-Physical Systems Frontier Award called COALESCE: ‘COntext-Aware LEarning for Sustainable CybEr-agricultural systems'.
