Conservation drainage – a showcase at the Ohio State Lima regenerative agriculture farm

The second Drainage Installation Field Day at The Ohio State University at Lima brought out close to 100 farmers, engineers, contractors and researchers from around northwest Ohio and across the state to learn more about the installation of sub-surface drainage tile systems and their modern uses. Volunteer contractors worked throughout the day to install 27,000 feet of perforated drain pipes across 25 acres at the Ohio State Lima Regenerative Agriculture Farm.

FABE Lecturers participate in inaugural Buckeye Precollege Institutes

The Buckeye Precollege Institutes, held throughout the month of June on Ohio State's campuses, allow pre-college students to get a head start on the college experience by exploring new academic subjects, interacting on campus with peers from across the U.S., and experiencing engaging, intensive courses taught by Ohio State faculty and staff.

AgTech Innovation Hub Announces Funding for Research Projects

The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), Nationwide, and the Ohio Farm Bureau joined forces to establish the AgTech Innovation Hub, a groundbreaking multimillion-dollar research collaboration. The partnership, unveiled during the 2023 Farm Science Review, aims to drive the development of innovative solutions that enhance the agricultural ecosystem while fostering a deeper understanding of and effective management and mitigation strategies for climate risks.

Faculty Awarded Grant to Integrate Sustainability into Engineering Education

The Ohio State University Department of Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering (FABE) incoming tenure-track faculty Cherish Vance and Senior Lecturer Patrick Sours (FABE/CEGE) have been awarded a grant from the American Society for Engineering Education's (ASEE) Engineering for One Planet (EOP) Mini-Grants Program. The grant aims to support educators in integrating sustainability into their programs. Out of over 100 applications received, their proposal was among the 14 selected, with each winning application receiving $8,000 for their academic programs.
