Alysa Gauci, a first-year graduate student researching agricultural engineering and crop science, can’t recall a time when agriculture wasn’t a part of her life.
“My passion for agriculture dates back to as far as I can remember,” Gauci said.

Morgan’s love of the outdoors started as a child, where she would spend hours playing outside at her home in Barberton, Ohio, near Akron. As Morgan grew, so did her passion for the outdoors. Today, Morgan is interested in health, eating clean, and exercising, especially trail hiking and hot yoga.

Jenna Lee grew up on a farm in Marysville, Ohio. As the daughter of two 3rd generation Buckeyes, she always had an interest in attending The Ohio State University. She said campus always felt like home to her as an Ohioan. Listening to the campus chimes when she crosses the oval makes her feel at home.

For those born and raised in Ohio, most aspire to get out and live by the beach. Wyatt (Kin) Sanders-Evans, however, did the opposite. As a native of Columbia, South Carolina, he was in for quite the treat coming to Ohio.
“I traded my flipflops for snow boots,” says Wyatt.

For most, life can take them slightly off course from their intended paths. But for some, like Agricultural Systems Management (ASM) student Owen Si, that may mean moving to the other side of the world for college.
Owen was born and raised in Qingdao, a big city in the Chinese province of Shandong. Back in high school, he never imagined that he would be in America starting his graduate in agriculture. In fact, English was his least favorite subject.

Everyone likes their food a different way. Some people enjoy the comfort of simple, homemade foods that they know the exact taste of while others seek the thrill of creating and trying new and exotic foods. Holly Huellemeier, current FABE graduate student, falls into the second category.
From Georgetown, Kentucky, Holly has always loved cooking. When she’s in the kitchen, she’s constantly exploring her options and finding out new recipes and ingredients from outside the box.
